Candyland was more than a theme as the students danced and posed comically inside the photo booth as Hammond Academy of Science and Technology hosted their first ever Turnabout at Centennial Park in Munster, Indiana.
The light jockey razzled the dance floor with an amazing light show, bringing the party to a whole new level. The walls of the hall were washed with a colorful pallet of candy colors by custom uplighting.
Huge over-sized beach balls came in to the mix, bopping in and out of the sea of dancers, while glow sticks thrown into the crowd by the hundreds by chaperones, teachers, and students made the night even more colorful and memorable. The disc jockey kept the party “turnt up” all night long with club style mixing, a taste of heavy bass and club feel given by the gigantic sound and light show.
Students enjoyed the photo booth’s ability to print black and white as well as color photos. 3D lips and mustaches, funky pimp hats, glittery sunglasses, over-sized Elton John glasses, and Mardi Gras sequined masks were some of the props the students chose from. Sometimes single, sometimes pairs and even large groups of 5 or more students posed all night long in the booth creating hilarious and unforgettable photo strips, featuring a custom background matching the events candyland theme.
Students danced in the photo booth line, talked with friends, and ate various candies from the refreshment and food table. Fanciful confectionery centerpieces adorned the hall, made of lollipops and gumball machines. The tables were sprinkled with Gumdrops, Starbursts, and candies of all kinds.
