Aaron’s Bar Mitzvah celebration was a grand slam at Centennial Park in Munster, Indiana. Kids and adults alike enjoyed an afternoon welcoming Aaron to this new stage in his life with food, drink, DJ, uplighting and a photobooth.
Guests entered the hall covered in a blue and baseball theme. Tables were displayed in baseball and Star Of David balloon centerpieces. Red and Blue cups speckled the tables, imprinted with the occasion and serving as a gift to take home along with a similarly imprinted sports bag for each child. Uplighting towards the front brought a wash of colored light into the room signalling the fun to come.
A projector threw a spotlight on the special afternoon, projecting a twinkling star of David around “Aaron’s Bar Mitzvah” wording. The photobooth was open right away for guests to take three color photos with a baseball theme on the strip, celebrating Aaron’s special day and rival teams, The Chicago Cubs and The Chicago White Sox.
Funny props were available including; LMFAO glasses, baseball glasses, silly hot dog hats, mowhawk wigs and sequined top hats.
The kids attending played trivia about Aaron to see who would get to go to the buffet first. The buffet was a fetching display of kid friendly food like mac and cheese, cheese sticks, chicken fingers and pizza.
The adults got their fill as well, with their own buffet including delights like gazpacho, dolmades, a carving station, salads, and pastas. A baseball field cake was enjoyed after dinner while Aaron greeted everyone and his mom and dad made toasts.
The DJ tantalized the kids with a round of party games like “Aaron’s ring of fire” game, followed by other contests including “hula hooping” and “a bit dicey”. Winners got gift cards and other prizes like glowsticks, hats, and glasses.
The party really started taking off as traditional Palestinian dancers memorized the crowd. Next Aaron was placed high in the air, with friends and family lifting him and dancing while performing the Hora (a chair style circle dance). After games, a slide show was played, highlighting Aaron’s growth into an amazing young man.
The kids finished out the night dancing to live mixes of all the greatest young adult hits. Dance offs broke out, as beach balls flew through the air and the DJ threw out beads and glow sticks for the kids to party rock with. Lastly the night was finished out with a massive neon train, where the young guests wore neon fedoras and snaked in and around the party, right after a big group photo of all the kids was taken with a projection in the background featuring “Aaron’s Bar Mitzvah” and all the baseball teams in the MLB.
