Lake Central hosted their “Float On” Winter Formal at the Halls of St. George in Schererville, Indiana topping last years “Frozen in Time” Winter Formal adding in balloon drops, blacklight bubbles, and more lighting to their Northwest Indiana School Dance!
Students were on the dance floor singing and dancing along to the dj before the dance was scheduled to start. The dance floor couldn’t contain the sheer awesomeness and number of students that sold out the dance.
Out in the lobby, students could dance and hear everything that was going on inside. On each side of the lobby was a photo booth with different props for each providing a unique experience. Colorful balloons were the backdrop for the 3 picture photostrips.
Blue, orange, and purple uplighting surrounded the room and all the stage lighting made it bright enough to keep the hall lights off. Hot air balloon and cloud centerpieces by “It’s My Party” were lit by the stage lighting as they hovered above tables adding vertical and horizontal depth to the room.
After the King and Queen were crowned, everyone danced to “Shake It Off” as balloons fell from every direction. Blacklight reactive bubbles filled the dance floor as the lights went down and glowsticks were thrown high into the air late into the night as the drop came to a remix of “Stay the Night.”
The night ended with students dancing on the stage, even singing along with the dj to the encore song “Float On” as everyone cleared out a little late to their awaiting limos and other transportation.
